
R. P. Patnaik
Ravindra Prasad Patnaik (born March 10, 1972), known professionally as R. P. Patnaik, is an Indian film score composer, singer, actor, and film director who works predominantly in Telugu cinema, alongside contributions to Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi films. He debuted as a feature composer with the romantic drama *Chitram* (2000). He gained widespread industry recognition composing for romantic dramas in the early 2000s, including *Nuvvu Nenu* (2001), *Santosham* (2002), and *Jayam* (2002), winning three consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Music Director – Telugu and the Nandi Award for Best Music Director. Patnaik subsequently scored the philosophical drama *Aa Naluguru* (2004), the drama *Avunanna Kadanna* (2005), and worked in Kannada cinema with features including *Aakash* (2005) and *Dattha* (2006). He debuted as an actor playing the lead in *Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi* (2004) before transitioning into directing with the romance *Andamaina Manasulo* (2008), which he also scored, wrote, and acted in. His further directorial works include the social drama *Broker* (2010), the American independent feature *Amy* (2013), *Tulasi Dalam* (2016), *Trigger* (2023), and the thriller *Coffee With A Killer* (2025). His later composition credits include *Ahimsa* (2023) and *Honeymoon Express* (2024).
